Hello,
Thank you for your valuable feedback. We acknowledge that our current version is not yet polished and performance-optimized. It is still in the alpha stage, and we are committed to improving it for the beta release.
During the importing process, we have noticed some issues with flickering and heavy resource usage due to the gallery updating immediately while new photos are imported. Our team has had an internal discussion on whether to show pictures immediately or after the sync. While some members believe that a progress bar with thumbnails, similar to the Google Photos web version, would be more efficient and have a lesser impact on performance, others argue that users with a vast collection should not have to wait the initial 10 minutes or so while importing a huge library. They fear that people might close the app and never return if they can't start right away.
That’s why we had decided to show new photos immediately and await feedback from our users on the perceived performance impact.
We would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this. Do you prefer working on pictures right away, or would you prefer the Google Photos web version's approach? Please let us know if you have any other suggestions how to solve this.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Stefan
