Can you name an app as an example where you find this feature particularly well executed?

What is important to you when it comes to cropping and resizing?

Are there specific aspect ratios and resolutions that you absolutely need as a quick selection?

I can't speak for the original requestor... For me, freehand crops are more important than specific sizes, but both are useful.

Resizing should be best quality but maybe selectable from options if some of the possibilities produce artifacts or moire patterns or whatever. (I use bicubic and spline almost exclusively, for instance, but there are times I use other algorithms.) Live previews are useful, as is Undo.

The default when resizing should be to maintain the aspect ratio, but it should be possible to switch that off.

Crops should have an optional rule of thirds grid displayed.

Sagelight gets crops and resizing almost right but there's a usability thing when making adjustments to the drawn-on crop window.
