supportSupport for NEF and RAW and DNG and PSD and PSB and PDF file formats "description "Program should contain codecs for NEF (Nikon Raw) RAW, DNG (Digital Negative raw), and most Adobe File Formats (PSD, PSB, PDF, TIFF, etc). Actually, it should support all common (and several not so common) file formats. Additionally, the program should have a mechanism for easily adding new file formats down the road as there are always new cameras and other recording devices and many seem to have proprietary formats."Hi,
I greatly appreciate your feedback. Achieving support for each format requires a dedicated effort, which is why we aim to thoughtfully evaluate the necessity and value of supporting various formats through a voting system. To facilitate this, we've established a distinct category labeled "File format".
Regarding RAW formats, our current support includes Canon CR2 and Fujifilm RAF, with ongoing work for Nikon NEF, Sony ARW, Panasonic RW2, and Olympus ORF.
We have definite intentions to incorporate TIFF, and this decision will be guided by the input from the community.
Interestingly, you are the first to express interest in PSD, PSB, and PDF formats. Do you have a lot of photos in those formats, especially PDF?
Our process includes a streamlined approach to introducing support for new file formats. However, this hinges on the resources, both time and financial, needed to ensure optimal display and comprehensive metadata support.
Kind regards,
Stefan

I'd like to provide you with an overview of our recent advancements.
We've made significant strides by incorporating support for Adobe DNG, Nikon NEF, and Sony ARW formats. While NEF and ARW are now operational, it's important to note that we currently lack lens information for these formats. Despite this limitation, we've decided to activate support for them, and users can utilize other functionalities seamlessly.
Unfortunately, for Panasonic RW2, we are facing challenges in extracting lens information and image size. Similarly, with Olympus ORF, our focus is on refining the extraction of preview images, and we are actively working on addressing these issues.
In the context of file format expansion, we have chosen not to prioritize TIFF, PSD, and PDF support at this time. The implementation of support for these formats involves higher effort, and our decision is based on the current demand, which we perceive as not being significant. We will continue to assess user needs and may reconsider this decision in the future.
