After introducing a faster algorithm for thumbnail generation on Windows, we received several reports that synchronization may unexpectedly halt on certain images.

The exact cause of this issue is still under investigation. As a precaution, we now cancel thumbnail creation using the new algorithm if it exceeds 15 seconds and revert to the older, more reliable (but slower) algorithm. If this fallback also fails, the image will be skipped entirely after one minute to prevent the synchronization process from stalling.

If you encounter images that the app cannot generate thumbnails for, please consider submitting them to support@ashampoo.com for analysis.

Additionally, we’ve improved the duplicates view by adding more image details, allowing you to quickly identify images that might just be smaller thumbnails.
